Brazil (Amazon River) Short Term Mission Trip Policies
Please read the following policies for Short Term Mission trips with the Amazon River Ministry Team in Brazil and enter your name and email address to indicate your agreement with these policies.
Personal Conduct and Standards - Short Term trip participants are part of a team representing a ministry. The team will minister together and must be consistent in presenting a good testimony. Trip participants must be modest and neat and not offensive to the host culture. The use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products is not allowed at any time during trips.
Participation - Our Ministry reserves the right to decline to accept any individual as a trip member for any reason whatsoever. Participants under 21 must have parental consent. All trip participants under 21 must travel with a notarized parental consent form. (Download Here)
Trip Funds & Passport - Our Ministry and missionaries are not responsible for any expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip, including prayer letters, postage, vaccinations, special clothing, passport fees, or other trip related expenses. Participants are responsible to apply for passports and visas. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the trip returns. (http://travel.state.gov)
Cancellation - We reserve the right to cancel a trip before a departure for any reason whatsoever including, too few participants or logistical problems such as, political unrest, strikes, wars, acts of God, or any other circumstances that may make operation of the trip inadvisable. We advise all trip participants to get travel insurance on your airline tickets in the event a trip is cancelled.
Travel Costs and Currency Fluctuation - In order to keep rates as low as possible we do not build airfare into the trip cost. Travel arrangements will be made by the individuals coming to Brazil. We will work with you and other team members to coordinate travel arrangements. As currencies, fuel costs, etc. fluctuate and trip costs change, it may be necessary to change the price of the trip. We will work with trip participants on the collection of the trip funds for the tip. Generally the trip funds will be brought to Brazil with you which will allow for a higher foreign exchange using US currency.
Medical Information - Participation in a Short Term Mission trip requires that you be in generally good health. It is essential that persons with any medical problems and related dietary restrictions make them known to us well before departure. We can counsel you on whether the trip you have selected is appropriate for you. We advise all participants to follow the immunization recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. (http://www.cdc.gov)
